On Wednesday, 20 April 2022, the 4ZDM Cluster and the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) co-organised the webinar ‘Digital Technologies for Zero-Defect Manufacturing’.
Each presenter gave an in-depth insight into their individual projects, pilots, and platforms, and the latest zero-defect manufacturing and quality control technologies they are utilising. The event hosted 114 attendees over the four hours and provided a deep and detailed understanding of subjects like AI, Digital Twins, Reference Architecture and Trusted Framework Architecture for ZDM in Smart Manufacturing, the future of Zero-Defect Manufacturing (ZDM), and more.
OPTIMAI’s Project Coordinator, Dr. Nikolaos Dimitriou, represented the OPTIMAI project and delivered an insightful presentation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Soft Sensing. He discussed how, in the use case of microelectronics, a very common source of defects is the dispensing of insufficient or excess glue before the attachment of Integrated Circuits. You can watch Dr. Dimitriou explain the proposed methodology to remedy this and his full presentation on our YouTube channel.
Thank you to all those who attended the event, and to our partners in the 4ZDM Cluster for their participation. We look forward to hosting more ZDM events in the future!
All presentation slides and a recording of the full webinar are available to view in the Resources section of the ZDM Manufuture website.
