Brief Biography of Partner
Youbiquo is a company working in the Smart Glasses market. Youbiquo made “Talens” Smart Glasses, a wearable computer equipped with Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence features; since 2015 we provided prototypes to various customers in the Maintenance sector of large enterprises. In May 2018, Youbiquo achieved a “Seal of Excellence” awarded by the European Commission for product innovation proposed. In May 2020, Youbiquo has achieved a second “Seal of Excellence” for an IoT solution dedicated to the maintenance sector.
The company currently has investment programs of Research and Development funded by Italian Ministry of Industry (MISE), Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR) and Campania Region in partnership with large companies, such as Leonardo company and Ericsson Telecommunications. Currently, Youbiquo is involved in European projects within the Horizon 2020 program together with international research centers and large companies.
Youbiquo, in addition to Augmented Reality Smart Glasses, whose new model “Talens Holo Industry” is on the market by 2021, provides consulting services for design and prototyping of wearable electronic devices and IoT devices, equipped with software applications. Smart features on board of our wearable/IoT devices are driven by Augmented Reality and Machine Learning technologies – i.e. understanding of Natural Language and Object Detection and Tracking.
The team consists of 15+ employees. skilled in software development, electronics design and prototyping, and mechanical product design. Governance is guaranteed by a board of three experienced founders.
Partner’s Role in the OPTIMAI project
Youbiquo will mainly focus on the design and development of the binocular AR smart glasses, which will be built upon a customized product based on the “Talens Holo” smart glasses owned by Youbiquo. Moreover, Youbiquo will further deal with any internal development of the components of the AR glasses, such as optics, electronics, software, and frame development, including the main tangible and intangible tools needed for these development activities. The Smart Glasses will be employed to display AR information in the users’ field of view, as well as for context aware gesture based interaction, so that users are able to address any deficiencies on the production line in situ.
